Hi! I’m Jeff Edwards of Fort Myers, Florida. I’ve been in the radio business for 54 years. I was a musician in my early days, and I have been a volunteer news reader for the blind. I coached my daughter’s travel softball team for a bunch of years and taught middle school Sunday School for a couple of years. Through it all, I have been happily married to my wife Bunny for 40 years.

Bunny was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in January of 2018. I had a sneaking suspicion that she might have some type of brain change about two years earlier.

Although I say I was “gut-punched” by the doctor’s prognosis, I am fortunate that we live in an area with many resources for families like us.

The Alvin Dubin Center, started by a woman whose husband suffered from Alzheimer’s, was and still is a particularly valuable resource for me. Their mission is to achieve caregiver health, strength, and resilience by providing education, information, hope and compassion. And boy do they.

With all that they have provided, I decided to start this podcast to support other caregivers like me. We’ll share our resources, our experiences, our heartbreak, and our little victories. We’ll hear from doctors, nurses, experts- and people like you and me, who are going through this disease with our loved ones, and who are willing to share their journey.
